Belo Washday Runways

Washday Friday is definitely that day of the week that everyone looks forward to when you work in the corporate setting. It’s the time of the week when you can take a break from the stuffy suits, slacks and stilettos. In most companies, (which includes the Belo Medical Group!) we are allowed to wear jeans, comfy tops and flats. But this should not stop us from being fashionable shouldn’t it? After all, Friday is an opportunity for a night out with friends to cap off the week!

At Belo, our employees know how to pull of a casual outfit while keeping it f

ashionable. By mixing and matching statement items and accessories, you can be comfortable and ready to face a weekend of fun and relaxation.

Along with our goals to transform people to become better versions of themselves, we have come up with a sartorial blog as an inspiration on what to wear during casual Fridays. Be inspired by our new Belo Washday Runways, as we give tips on what to wear during casual Fridays with our very own Belo employees as stars of our office runway.

D Espiritu, Marketing Operations Officer

D is wearing a printed off-shoulder top that accentuates her slim figure. The combination of floral and striped prints is definitely one of the hottest trends which you can find in stores such as Forever21, Topshop or Pink Manila. Downplay a statement top with low-key jeggings and white wedges while donning a high ponytail to make the look young and fresh. Oh, a white LV Damier Speedy won’t hurt too!

Jonas Navarro, IT Specialist

Jonas knows how to pull of the skater boy look effortlessly. He keeps it simple by wearing light-washed jeans with a red cotton shirt. Notice how he keeps his shoelaces loose, which gives a casual vibe to the outfit. To keep it stylish, he throws on a green striped hoody for a preppy turn to the outfit. Vans and Trilogy Boutique are the popular ones who carry these lines of clothes and shoes.

Lea Alba, Accounting Specialist

Lea is wearing an outfit that can go from the office and straight to a casual night out. She pairs her dark denim jeans with a trendy gray top that looks simple and sophisticated. Filipino brands such as Meg, Apple&Eve and Paperdolls carry these lines of dainty corporate tops. She matches her watch with a pair of tan flats to add color and punch to her outfit. Keep it dainty by wearing dangling pearls like what she has on.

Lady Delarmente, HR Officer

Lady keeps it fun and light by wearing a bright floral top paired with cut-off jeans. To keep the look polished, she wears a pair of pretty navy statement flats. Tip: if you want to veer away from cut-off jeans, try wearing boyfriend jeans and crop it by folding the hems. Wear girly flats to contrast the jeans to keep it sexy!

Lanie Morales, GSD Manager

Add oomph to an all-black outfit by carrying a statement bag like Lanie did. She is wearing a black tunic with black leggings and a pair of elegant black slip ons. Her slouchy woven handbag has an inner shimmery lining that keeps it classy and interesting. She wears a simple necklace with her hair up to make the look seamless. Bottega Venetta is one of the most popular brands for woven, statement bags. Any woman would love to carry one!

We hope you enjoyed our first Friday of Washday Runways! keep posted every Friday and be inspired.

Have a Belo Beautiful Weekend!

Ike and Nena Belo Foundation helps cancer kids

On its second year, the Ike and Nena Belo Foundation of the Belo Medical Group helps children with cancer by funding the full renovation of the treatment room of the Children’s Cancer Ward and Hematology Center at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (Lungsod ng Kabataan).

The Ike and Nena Foundation was put up by Dr. Vicki Belo, in honor of her parents, lawyer Enrique Belo and wife Florencia, who instilled in her the value of charitable giving.

The treatment room had its blessing and inauguration last September 8, which is also the birth anniversary of Atty. Ike Belo. The activity was also part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Belo Medical Group this year.

Present were Dr. Belo, her mom Nena Belo, daughter Cristalle Belo Henares, Belo doctors, managers, celebrity endorsers (Regine Velasquez, Sam Concepcion, Mark Bautista, Valerie Concepcion, Grace Lee) and Dr. Vince Gomez from the PCMC.

Magician Alakim delighted the children with his tricks. Jollibee also added fun by bringing its popular mascot and distributing snacks to the kids.

The Ike and Nena Belo Foundation is a non-profit corporate charity meant to shape lives, with education, surgical assistance and environmental protection as its advocacies.

The private foundation was created for the education of needy children, rehabilitation of burned victims, surgery of children with cleft palate and environmental awareness. The core advocacy is geared towards the physical, mental and social welfare of the beneficiaries.

“The foundation carries the legacy of my parents and it is Belo’s way of giving back after 20 years of being in the business,”

Dr. Belo said. “We want to be part of shaping people’s lives by fulfilling their goals and giving them a sense of value and satisfaction.”

Dr. Belo makes it a point to be on top of all the activities and charitable missions of foundation, which include annual scholarship grants to poor but deserving students, community outreach programs, public service, medical missions, surgical/medical assistance and environmental campaigns.

Among the activities that the Ike and Nena Foundation has completed are the outreach to the less fortunate at Baseco Compound in Tondo, donating school supplies to students in Mindoro, the Belo Goes Green environmental campaign, treatment of burned victims and ongoing scholarship grants to eight students.
